And Who the Hell Am I?

I am a nobody. Just a female trying to live in this sick, sick, world, and remain as whole as possible.

If it matters, I am a “generic white” woman, upper 30’s, 2 kids, PNW transplant from a fly-over state in good ‘ol ‘Murica. There really isn’t much else to say; career and family has wiped my identity clean over the last decade and I am working to reclaim it.

As a baby RadFEm, I cannot claim to know much, but I am learning! What I do know is that I love womyn, and try to put them first in everything I do. If women don’t care for other women, no one will. I cannot believe how long it took me to learn this very simple lesson.

    Awesome! I came over here from your comments on Feminist Current. I too started out in liberal feminism, and then discovered Twisty. I eventually noticed the liberal blogs I was reading weren’t very feminist at all. I’ve read almost all of her radfem reading list now, as well as Gail Dines. Sounds like we traveled the same path. Nice to meet you!

      We have walked a similar path! Twisty was my first intro to non liberal feminism, and she was the first to explain that equality was BS, liberation was the point, that PIV is rape, and that men are the problem. I only found her from reading Pharnagula! I have been spending all my free time reading all of the books I can get my hands on. There is so much to learn! While I agree with every tenant of rad fem, I can only consider myself a baby. And that’s OK. I would rather take the time to learn it right.
      I only decided to blog because I was writing as a way to organize the ideas in my mind, and it ended up being a great way to process the mess I got into with the sex pozzie shit. I didn’t think anyone would read it. I was shocked to see comments, since this isn’t listed anywhere. I am such a boob I didn’t realize my screen name linked here 🙂

      Anyway, thanks for commenting! I am awful with word press and just figured out how to manage comments. LOL.

        You’ll figure it all out. There’s lots to know about WordPress, and they do have tutorials if you’re interested. I think blogging is really important. Women have stopped doing in-person consciousness-raising groups (which I think we should still be doing!) and we’re doing all our discussion on the Internet. So, discuss away! It’s important work, we shouldn’t be expected to reinvent the wheel all by ourselves—we should be learning from each other.
